Celia "Celery" Colter is a senior at Indiana State University, where she is studying music
education, with a concentration in instrumental and general music. Celia’s primary instruments
are piano and trombone, and her prospective date of graduation is May 2018.
As a Drum Corps International performer, Celia marched euphonium and baritone with
the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps (2013-2015), where she earned the Hornline Rookie of the
Year Award and was a baritone/euphonium section leader. Celia then marched euphonium with
the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps (2016-2017), being a member in the first-time DCI World
Championship Bluecoats production, “Down Side Up,” and aging out the following year with
As an educator, Celia has worked with the Terre Haute North Patriot Brigade from 2015-
2017. She also teaches private lessons to beginning brass players attending Honey Creek Middle
School. She specializes in low brass students, both beginning and advanced players.
